ll take snaps with the first-team offense and throw Wednesday ahead of Sunday night's home game against Dallas.  MORE: SN Power Rankings: Falcons are the real deal | Rare photos of Drew Brees at Purdue"It's going to be safe to say Brees is going to throw every day now, continue to rehab and strengthen the shoulder," coach Sean Payton told local reporters in a conference call Wednesday morning. "He needs to be healthy and we'll play him. If he's not, we won't." Brees also restructed his contract, according to ESPN, by turning $5.2 million of his base salary into a signing bonus to clear $2.6 million in cap space. The Saints have nearly $31 million in dead money with contracts for former players Jimmy Graham, Junior Galette, Brodrick Bunkley, Pierre Thomas, Ben Grubbs and Curtis Lofton still counting against the team's salary cap. Moving the money on Brees' contract does not fix anything long-term. While Brees' cap number dips to $23 million this year, the Saints are looking at a $30 million cap hit next year for the quarterback's contract. The move gives the Saints some "wiggle room" this year to make an addition to the roster, especially with the team "short at tight end," as Payton said Wednesday. Last Sunday's 27-22 loss to Carolina was the first time Brees missed a game because of injury in his 15-year career. Backup Luke McCown went 31 of 38 for 310 yards without a touchdown and had a late interception against the Panthers. Brees said Sunday night that he fully expects to play against the Cowboys as the Saints search for their first win.
